In
the most recent document on Consecrated Life, Religious are asked to
respond to the laity who ask to participate in the charismatic ideals of
our Institutes.
As
a Congregation we decided to welcome people as Companions. We chose the
name Companions in keeping with the spirit of Saint Francis and his
first Companions. The first group of Companions was welcomed in our
chapel in Melton Mowbray at a public Mass
A second group was received in
February 2006 and a third group began in September 2007. The groups meet
once a month and are introduced to the life of Saint Francis and the
gift of Franciscan spirituality which is his legacy to the church. This
is presented within the context of our lived experience as Franciscan
Sisters Minoress.
If anyone would like to know
more about The Companions please contact Sister Thomas More at: srtmfrancis@columba52.plus.com
