Fraternity

Let the sisters show by their actions that they love one another. With confidence let them make their needs known to one another, so that each may find what is needed and all may serve one another.

We who are drawn together by the Holy Spirit as a community in the Church must become daily more conscious  that we are to be like the Trinity, a community of persons united in love. Called and consecrated we desire to become a community which will give a real and visible witness to radical gospel living.

You must all think of what is best for each other and for the community. Be happy at all times, pray constantly, and for all things give thanks to God because this is what God expects you to do in Christ Jesus. (1Thess.5:16-18)

They are blessed who love their brethren as much when these are sick and cannot repay them, as when they are well and can repay them.

Our relationships, even the most ordinary ones with each of our sisters have to be deepened in the Lord. Saint Francis asks that his followers show by their behaviour towards one another that they are all one family. In a family all are united in a bond of love.

Wherever they are and in whatever place they meet, the brothers and sisters should greet and honour one another fervently and from the heart. They should foster unity and fellowship with all the members of the Franciscan Family. ( TOR Rule Ch1)
